Cafcass puts kids under pressure
As you may aware of CAFCASS from Bernandos report from headlines on many newspaper in the UK because British family justice system is a mess and everyday goes to more mess by CAFCASS because CAFCASS process takes alist 12 weeks and even more in many cases and County Court allows in many cases to CAFCASS to be involved. In fact, as a review chaired by David Norgrove has found, there is no system worthy of the name regarding to British National newspaper telegraph this week.
Regarding to newspaper, every year, around 500,000 adults and children are involved in highly emotional disputes that take far too long to settle. Each case takes 53 weeks on average, compared to 12 in 1989. On current trends, these delays will only worsen at considerable cost to the individuals involved and to the state. Last year, the taxpayer picked up a bill for £1.5 billion for the court processes needed to resolve disputes between separating parents.
As Mr Norgrove observes in his interim report, there have been at least seven reviews of family justice since the main legal framework, the Children Act, became law in 1989. Yet the same problems exist today as then.
Mercifully, he does not conclude that the solution is the one always offered by the last government: more money. What is proposed instead is significant reform of the complicated system, basing it around a new Family Justice Service, with a chief executive, a management board and a simple structure. Provided this does not cost a fortune to establish and run, it seems a sensible way forward.
The most important consideration must always be the welfare of children, and the rights of parents should properly be taken into account. Mr Norgrove also wants grandparents to have a greater chance of retaining contact with their grandchildren by emphasising the value of their access in Parenting Agreements.
He should go further. Currently, grandparents must seek a court’s permission simply to apply for a contact order, whereas step-parents or guardians have an automatic right to apply for contact. Equal treatment would help end an injustice for the thousands of people who lose touch with their grandchildren.
After all this CAFCASS promote theyself as a “Putting children first in family courts”, certainly they are putting children to get effected more in courts with legal powers because sometimes after 12 weeks reports can be all wrong due unprofessional staff so we need to that same time kids under pressure and will get more pressured due ongoing issues and reports by CAFCASS.
For better result CAFCASS system should be reviewed again and again because all our kids, childrens are very important and this joke, this mess should be cleared from court rooms along with Families Forward and special organasation could take a place. Dont forget if you ever get involved with CAFCASS, which means you can forget about kids, children for least 12 weeks so we would highly suggest get ready for CAFCASS hell because 12 weeks mean 3 months and your kids will stay where ever it is.
