Justin Bieber is Rolling Stone’s cover boy
Justin Bieber is Rolling Stone’s cover boy for the issue hitting newsstands Feb. 18. And while we’re still hung up on the Sum 41 Halloween costume he appears to be wearing in the shot, there’s something else about Bieber’s RS appearance that has the gossips all upons: Bieber’s take on love and sex.
The 16-year-old pop star kept his comments terse, tasteful — and didn’t mention rumoured girlfriend Selena Gomez.
“I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them,” Bieber told RS. “I think you should just wait for the person you’re…in love with,” he said in response to whether he was the newest member of teen pop’s Purity Club.
But the interview features other Bieber facts that illuminate the pop star’s views on a variety of topics — most of them seemingly crafted to court controversy.
For instance, Bieber reveals he’s unlikely to become a U.S. citizen — for more reasons beyond his undying love of Timmy’s Ice Capps. “You guys are evil,” he joked. “Canada’s the best country in the world. We go to the doctor and we don’t need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you’re broke because of medical bills. My bodyguard’s baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby’s premature, he stays in the hospital as long as he needs to, and then you go home.”
The magazine also asked Bieber for his views on abortion (because, hey, why not?):
“I really don’t believe in abortion,” he told RS. “It’s like killing a baby?” When further pressed by the mag what his stance would be in cases of rape, he replied: “Um. Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.”
One Bieber-championed issue, however, that we can all get behind, is the kid’s preference for Canadian food franchises. When asked in a Rolling Stone video (see below) what restaurant he would most like to fly to at a moment’s notice, the singer responded:
“I would fly to Canada and eat at Swiss Chalet and get their quarter chicken dinner. It’s so good.”
